Walt Disney World Restaurants offer healthy food options to help with weight loss plans
This is a follow up blog to my previous post regarding weight loss at the Walt Disney World Resorts. Sorry for the delay…..life happens!
I started the day off wondering how I could eat healthy during my stay at the Walt Disney World Resorts. Much to my surprise today, it was a lot easier than I thought. For breakfast I found Special K (single serve size), low-fat milk and fruit – apples and bananas.
As the day went on I was noticing that many outlets, which served food, had selections of fruits and veggies. I also noticed that a lot of quick service restaurants offered carrots or apples instead of chips of French fries. This was perfect! Especially with my tuna salad wrap.
For a snack, everyone else I was traveling with wanted a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. So not on my diet plan. So instead I ordered a frozen fruit bar. A lot healthier than ice cream.
The restaurant we had dinner at offered a mixed meat and veggie platter. Red peppers! Green Peppers! Onions! Zucchini! Squash! And steak, chicken and shrimp. They were perfectly seasoned, skewered and grilled to perfection. DELICIOUS!
I could not believe it when I saw how easy it was to eat healthier today while at Walt Disney World. And I learned a mini-vacation is still possible while trying to loosed weight.
Happy dieting!
I was pleasantly surprised the last time I was at Disneyland, it was really nice to have a healthier alternative to just the standard theme park fries (which always make me feel gross afterwards!). I noticed that some places were offering gardenburgers as well, which I thought was great progess! You can also buy fresh fruit around the park. I always pack low fat string cheese and some nuts when I visit a theme park, just in case the food they offer is less than healthy.
